The story
Making room for a holiday meal.
Christmas can make a family’s financial pressures feel especially sharp. HEAT’s 2025 Food & Gift Drive set out to ease one part of that pressure: put ingredients for a holiday meal into a mother’s hands and give children a gift to open.
From 360 to 500 hampers
Supporters funded 360 food hampers. HEAT then topped up the effort so 500 families could receive one. Each hamper contained rice, pasta, tinned tomatoes, oil, eggs and oats: everyday ingredients a household could use beyond a single meal.
A moment for the children, too
The team also met its goal of gifting 500 children. The distribution took place around Zongo Junction in the Ablekuma Central constituency, bringing food and gifts into the same community gathering.
What this shows
The drive delivered practical holiday support to 500 families and 500 children. These counts describe items distributed and people reached; they do not measure a longer-term change in household food security.
